Welcome To Common Ground

Common Ground is one of Portlands oldest healing centers and has been in operation since 1978. The healing center is a welcoming oasis that offers a variety of wellness services and practitioners, engulfed in soothing atmosphere and asthetic apeal. Our healing modalities include massage, accupuncture, sensory deprivation (floatation tanks), chiropractic, hot-stone therapy, steam room, dry sauna and a wonderfully welcoming staff.

A Bit of History...

Common Ground started in 1978 as The Everett House Healing Center and consisted of wellness practitioners, a hot tub and sauna facility in the 2917 (E1) building.  In 1981 we added the 2927 (E2) building.  In 1983 our name was changed to Common Ground.  The Common Ground sign was planted out front that same year and the trillium flower painted on it was a reminder of the Everett House Healing Center which artisically created it in 1979. The words of a Paul Winter song (from which we adopted our name) accompanied the sign;

  "in a circle of song, in a circle of sound, all our voices will blend when we touch common ground..."

These grounds over many years have become the home base for many of Portland's finest wellness practitioners.  The community has come to know Common Ground as a gathering place as well as a place of healing and inner peace. As times change we hope to continue to serve you on these grounds with the best of community services in wholistic health, healing and education.

Happy Healing!!!
